Florida Medical Center celebrated a major milestone recently with a special ribbon-cutting opening reception for The Care Center for Women. More than 100 members of the hospitals administrative and medical staff as well as local officials and civic leaders attended the reception and enjoyed a preview of the services and technology that the new center provides in a uniquely soothing and appealing setting. Among those who attended the event was Glendora Silcott, who was recently treated by the centers doctors for breast cancer and is now free of the disease. Silcott has worked as a nurse at Florida Medical Center for the last 13 years, and she is now recovering from her surgery and chemotherapy before returning to work this summer.
